SUMMER TRAVEL

Travelling with BOGNER

Petra’s Dorothea Merritt has been one of British Airways’ more frequent guests. Crossing the Atlantic three or four times a year for fashion buying trips she she knows a thing or ten about packing for the plane. And she chooses Bogner bags every time for their style and space.

FUNCTION

When you’re on a long flight, there are certain things you’ll need with you, like a change of clothes and shoes, your technology, a jacket for when you land (because you never know) and a pillow. Sure, you could settle for the pillows they give you on the plane, but you run the risk of showing up with a kink in your neck not exactly the way you want to kick off a trip.

Bogner bags are perfectly sized for flying. They have room, but not too much that they swallow things up. The zippered and coloured pockets help you find your stuff faster and remove it faster at security checkpoints like laptops and documents (because no one wants to be the one holding up the line). They’re durable microfiber and so virtually indestructible: perfect for frequent flyers. Also, they’re easy to carry with comfortable straps: good for plane transfers and running through airports.

Once you’re on the ground, the bag can shrink to suit any occasion like you can turn a knapsack into a clutch! The straps can be adjusted for the perfect “drop length” to foil pickpockets. And they’re durable microfiber so virtually indestructible.

FORM

When you land in London, Paris, Munich or Milan, you have to look the part. A Bogner bag goes a long way in this respect. And it doesn’t matter which model you choose.

We love the cross-over pillow bag, but anything from their selection would complete whatever ensemble you put together. And many of them are reversible with two colours, so you can change your bag as you change your outfit.

FEEL

A Bogner bag isn’t generally something you can choose online. You have to wear it, see it on yourself and picture yourself travelling with it. So we encourage you to pay us a visit and try a Bogner bag on.

A few other travel tips

As you prepare for your next jaunt across the pond, keep these in mind.

Know your body. If you can sleep on a plane, take the red eye and arrive ready to go. If not, take the day flight, grab an early dinner when you land and wake up the next morning refreshed.

Don’t forget wired headphones. Airplanes haven’t gone Bluetooth just yet. So if you don’t want to be stuck overpaying for a poor-quality, rinky-dink pair on the plane, invest in good travel headphones. Bay Bloor Radio right downstairs from us has great ones.

Drink plenty of water on the plane. Airplane cabins are full of germs, no matter how often they’re cleaned. Drinking water will flush your system.

Make time for cultural events. Whether you’re traveling for business or to see friends, squeeze in something representative of the country you’re in. Experiencing the soul of a new place will be, in the long run, way more memorable than any meeting or dinner party. And those memories will add up.
