PK’s very own virtual fashion show

Welcome to Paris Fashion Week

October 2020 Edition

This season, like most fashion buyers, we were at home “virtual” reviewing the collections on our computer. This Fashion Week, less than half the fashion houses were there, and events were held outside in the Tuilleries Garden, under cover from the wind and rain.

The Vibe

The vibe in Paris matched the rainy, foreboding weather. Our colleague at Mode DEVERNOIS in  Paris said: "It is too quiet”.

We really wanted to be there in person because Paris is the city of fashion. It has the tradition and people behind the scenes to produce PK’s DEVERNOIS ready -to wear, which we tailor to the body in-house.

Let us show you what we are wearing on our October  “virtual” buying trip to Paris using the  Fall/Winter 2020 Collection which has just arrived in-store!

Long heat-insulating multicolor winter coat.
Paired with a Burgundy faux-fur bucket hat and matching suede gloves.

The Buyer

On a buying trip we like to try on just about every style, work with the model, think about how the clothes feel on the body, and what we need from them this season

Python print with athletic leisure jacket and blood orange detailing

Our style of life is completely different now. It’s a more intimate relationship with what we wear because we don’t see so many people. We want to feel comfortable. For us, ”classy and comfortable” go hand-in -hand, and this applies to women of all ages.

Cashmere cardigan over champagne silk chemise paired with a cream trousers and a multi-patterned scarf

The Design

We are outdoors more. The varying shades of sunlit blue are chic and the silhouette is easy.

Long navy winter coat over sky-blue cashmere sweater.
Accessorized with a chic floral navy scarf.

Paris is our dream destination. The French style is always fluid and feminine.  And as a fashion business during this transient time, we need to head for higher ground to survive. Paris is haute.

The Color

We all have certain colors that define our lives - grays, blacks and charcoals might make us sad-but they work as companion colors. You need them to create others which are more joyful.

Paired with ruby red gloves and lipstick!

Au Revoir Paris!

The last day of Paris Fashion Week, the music is up, people are exhausted and the champagne is for all. But that’s not it, of course, for Paris Fashion Week is about the friendships forged, people from all over the world, Paris becomes a village of like minded people .

Although this marks the end of our fashion show...

It's time to reach for that
coupe du champagne!!

PK’s Fall/Autumn 2020 Collection

New Season Tour Guide

Take a fashionable tour of this Fall’s finest collectibles. Feel free to touch and wear the art work...

The Blank Canvas

At PK we enjoy a blank canvas…when it’s time to dress; a minimal styling approach.

The Theory of Color

Fall season’s palette from Barcelona and Munich is decidedly festive.

Salzburg-based 2-in-1 Schneiders Coat

Salzburg-based Schneiders is dedicated to one thing and one thing only:

Crafting the perfect everlasting outerwear (and they nailed it!). This Fall’s dream is this 2 piece timeless coat/jacket. We hope you love this piece as much as we do.

Layering style technique

Layering like a professional artist requires experimentation...
Play with different prints - a cotton shirt from Berlin is a great place to start and play around with a cashmere sweater overlay from Naples.

Finally, enjoy a real art piece recently added to the PK  in store art collection. The painting on canvas celebrates a 60’s style and fashion icon driving a Fiat Cinquecento; a much loved car which is also an icon of Italian style. The painting has a big, happy retro mood which combines fashion with the art and style of an era.
